Kindermoordenaar Freddy Krueger blijkt niet dood te zijn en besluit wraak te nemen op de drie overgebleven tieners die hem om zeep probeerden te helpen. Maar dan besluit Kirsten, één van de tieners, haar speciale gaven aan haar klasgenoot Alice Johnson te geven. Deze moet er vervolgens voor zorgen om Freddy voorgoed uit te schakelen.
