Ben is eigenaar van een bioscoop en woont samen met zijn vriendin Miko. Zij werkt voor een filmfestival en is politiek actief, maar deelt haar ideologie niet met hem. Zijn beste vriendin Alice is lesbisch en stelt Ben als haar vriendje voor aan haar conservatieve familie.
