Amanda keert, na vijftien jaar in het buitenland te hebben gewoond, naar haar ouderlijke boerderij in Brazilië terug. Voor de gelegenheid reist haar vriend mee. Aangekomen in het afgelegen dorpje ontdekt ze een vader die in een coma is beland en diens arbeiders die op oorlogspad zijn. Haar vader blijkt met de dorpelingen een verontrustend akkoord gesloten te hebben.
