"Battlestar Galactica: The Plan" speelt zich af in het fictieve universum van de twaalf koloniën van Kobol. De film bestaat zowel uit nieuw filmmateriaal als een compilatie van beelden uit de TV-serie en de miniserie. De miniserie en de eerste twee seizoenen van Battlestar Galactica worden verteld vanuit het standpunt van de in opstand gekomen Cylon robots, met hun plan om het mensenras uit te roeien. Maar na hun verwoestende aanvallen bleven er menselijke overlevenden over, en de Cylons moeten nu improviseren. Het verhaal begint met twee specimens van het Cylon type Cavil, waarbij één oppert dat ze misschien een vergissing begaan hebben, waarna het verhaal in flashback verteld wordt. De "Final Five" Cylons komen uitgebreid aan bod.
Nee, helaas is Battlestar Galactica: The Plan nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
