De ellende begint als de kleine Andy ontdekt dat zijn pasgekregen pop 'Chucky' bezeten is door de ziel van een gruwelijke moordenaar. Een serie duistere en vooral ijzingwekkende moorden volgt. Dan probeert de pop bezit te nemen van Andy's geest.
