Voor de ogen van Bernie LaPlante boort een vliegtuig zich in de brug over een snelweg. Het liefst had hij zich zo snel mogelijk uit de voeten gemaakt. Maar tegen zijn wil wordt hij meegesleurd in de strijd op leven en dood redt hij maar liefst 54 mensen! In de chaos van de ramp jat hij terloops ook nog wat credit cards en portemonnees en vlucht daarna. 'Wie is deze held ?'vraagt heel de natie zich af. Er wordt de mensenredder zelfs een miljoen dollar beloofd als hij zich meldt. Dit is Bernie's kans, want verder ziet het er voor hem niet zo best uit in het leven.
Nee, helaas is Hero nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
