Winter, 1988: weerman Russ Richards zit zonder geld. Hij heeft veel geleend om een sneeuwmobiel-zaakje te kunnen starten, maar het is nog steeds buitengewoon warm. Zijn vriend Gig adviseert hem om verzekeringsfraude te plegen, maar dit zorgt ervoor dat Russ alleen nog maar dieper in de schulden komt. Vervolgens krijgt hij de raad om met hulp van Crystal de staatsloterij te beroven.
