Brian Kessler (een journalist die onderzoek doet naar seriemoordenaars) en zijn vriendin Carrie (een fotograaf) gaan met de auto op tour naar plekken waar zich bekende moordpartijen hebben afgespeeld. Ze delen de rit en de kosten met Early Grace, een crimineel die op borgtocht vrij is, en zijn vriendin Adele.
