Een groep passagiers stort met hun vliegtuig neer als ze boven de Grote Oceaan zijn. Het getroffen vliegtuig komt gevaarlijk dicht bij de rand van een bodemloos ravijn tot stilstand. De passagiers en bemanningsleden die het ongeluk hebben overleefd, zitten gevangen in een luchtzak. Terwijl de luchtvoorraad snel opraakt, ontstaat er een nachtmerrieachtige overlevingsstrijd waarin verschillende gevaren van alle kanten op hen afkomen.
