Zes jaar terug, terroriseerde Michael Myers het stadje Haddonfield en zijn nicht, Jamie Lloyd, verdween. Zij werd gekidnapped door een groep handlangers van Michael. Nu, zes jaar later, is Jamie ontsnapt en heeft ze inmiddels Michael's zoon op de wereld gezet. Jamie gaat terug naar Haddonfield om opnieuw de hulp van Dr. Loomis in te roepen. Ondertussen woont de familie die Laurie Strode geadopteerd heeft in het ouderlijk huis van Myers; de familie die door Michael voortdurend in de gaten gehouden wordt. Michael Myers gaat gebukt onder de vloek van Thorn, die hem ertoe beweegt de hele familie uit te moorden. Het is aan Dr. Loomis en Tommy Doyle om de psychopaat te stoppen.
