Als toekomstige koningin van Genovia heeft prinses Mia alles wat een meisje zich maar zou kunnen wensen. Samen met haar vriendin Lilli is ze naar het fictieve land ergens tussen Spanje en Italie gereisd en ingetrokken bij haar mooie, wijze oma koningin Clarisse.
