Lord James D'Ampton en zijn vriend Angus Flint brengen een bezoek aan het huis waar de voorouders van James in gewoond hebben. Een duistere nieuwe buur, Lady Sylvia Marsh, heeft haar intrek genomen in het naastgelegen Chateau en lijkt de spil te zijn van het op grote schaal toenemende vampirisme in de nabije omgeving.
