Wanneer er bij George een dodelijke ziekte wordt geconstateerd neemt hij de zorg van zijn tienerzoon Sam op zich. Voor Sam bestaat het hebben van lol uit drugsgebruik, prostitutie en het ontlopen van zijn vader. Door het bouwen van een huis met Sam probeert George weer met hem in contact te komen.
Nee, helaas is Life as a House nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
