Het jonge Noorse meisje Kim komt bijna om het leven nadat ze van een heuvel is gevallen. Ze vindt onderdak en stuit op het territorium van een wolf en haar puppy. Als ze erachter komt dat drie herders erop uit zijn de wolf te doden, besluit ze de grens over te steken naar Zweden, waar ze niet op wolven jagen.
