Het verhaal van de idealistische Nederlandse pianist Martijn, die op verzoek van zijn vriendin naar Marokko reist om een voedselprogramma te starten voor kinderen. Kort nadat hij zijn Britse gids Gavin heeft ontmoet, worden de twee ontvoerd door terroristen. Ze worden geblinddoekt en met riemen vastgebonden aan stoelen wakker in een verlaten warenhuis. De ontvoerders, geleid door Ahmat, zijn sceptisch over Martijn’s altruistische motieven. Wat volgt is een ondervraging die verhevigt met iedere ruwe vraag en ieder hard antwoord.
