Finn is een eindexamenkandidaat aan de Universiteit van Berkeley. Zij brengt de zomer door bij haar oma en diens zus. Hier wil Finn haar eindscriptie schrijven en nadenken over het huwelijksaanzoek dat zij van haar vriend heeft gekregen. Maar dan ontmoet ze de sexy, gespierde Leon, die het allemaal wel erg moeilijk voor haar maakt. Terwijl zij worstelt om het juiste besluit te nemen, vertellen de dames uit haar oma's quilt-clubje haar hun liefdesverhalen die hun leven hebben gevormd.
