Nadat zijn vriendin het heeft uitgemaakt, besluit Ben om samen met zijn vriend Marcus aan een nachtelijke moeras-tour deel te nemen, om iets anders aan zijn hoofd te hebben. Maar tijdens de tour komt de boot per ongeluk vast te liggen en moeten de passagiers te voet verder door de moerassen van New Orleans. Dan ontdekken ze de legende van Victor Crowley, een gruwelijk mismaakte man, die als klein jongetje om het leven kwam bij een grote brand in zijn huis. En de nachtmerrie is begonnen.
