James Vega leidt een groep van speciale strijdkrachten in een gevecht tegen een mysterieuze buitenaardse dreiging, bekend als 'The Collectors'. Ze zijn gestationeerd op een kolonie in een afgelegen sterrenstelsel. Vega moet met zijn troepen de lokale bevolking beschermen tegen een invasie van dodelijke krijgers, die de mensen proberen te gijzelen voor onduidelijke bedoelingen.
