Sarah is een zelfstandige, zwarte vrouw die een eigen zaak in Californië heeft. Haar man stierf echter voor ze een gezin hadden. Ze gaat naar de spermabank voor het zaad van een slimme, zwarte. maar niet te lange man. Nu haar dochter Zora 18 jaar is, wil deze weten wie haar vader is. Hij blijkt echter een zeer blanke verkoper van tweedehands Amerikaanse auto's. Zij wil hem leren kennen, maar daar zit hij in eerste instantie niet zo op te wachten.
