De student Eddie Kasalivich werk als technicus voor een wetenschappelijk team dat een alternatieve energiebron ontdekt. Wanneer één van de wetenschappers vermoord en de uitvinding gestolen wordt, krijgen Eddie en natuurkundige Lily Sinclair hier de schuld van. Ze moeten vluchten voor hun leven, met de FBI, CIA en andere partijen achter zich aan. Paul Shannon, Eddie's mentor, is de baas van een wetenschappelijk bedrijf dat commerciële interesse heeft in de uitvinding.
