Een brontosauruswees genaamd Littlefoot (Platvoet) gaat op zoek naar de legendarische Great Valley: een land vol voedsel waar de dino's in vrede kunnen leven. Tijdens zijn reis ontmoet hij vier andere jonge dinosaurussen, en ze moeten samen zien te werken om te overleven.
