Voor de jonge Wyatt Earp zijn familie, gerechtigheid en eerlijkheid de drie belangrijkste dingen in het leven. Dat heeft hij zo van zijn vader geleerd. Wyatt huwt met Urilla, zijn jeugdliefde, en gaat rechten studeren. Later vertrekt hij naar Wichita en daarna naar Dodge City. Daar krijgt hij de sheriffster opgespeld.
