Vier onbekende mensen stappen op een avond in San Francisco nietsvermoedend in de bus. De buschauffeur wordt echter op zeer prettige wijze afgeleid en zij verongelukken allen. Tegelijkertijd wordt tijdens het ongeluk in een van de betrokken auto's Thomas geboren. En juist deze onwillige sterveling is voorbestemd om de onvervulde dromen van de vier ongelukkige zielen te doen uitkomen.
Nee, helaas is Heart and Souls nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
