Polen 1982. Urszula, een tolk, verliest haar man Antek, een advocaat. Antek laat een mooie vrouw en kind en een lopende zaak achter. Voor zijn dood had Antek dus nog een zaak lopen van iemand die ervan wordt beschuldigd de organisator van een grote staking te zijn. Urszula probeert nu deze man te helpen.
