Goro Inogashira heeft zijn eigen importbedrijf en reist voor zijn werk door heel Japan. Tijdens het reizen probeert hij graag verschillende restaurants uit. Als hij in Parijs arriveert, krijgt Goro te horen dat een oude vriend de wens heeft om voor zijn overlijden een specifieke soep te proeven die hij in zijn jeugd heeft gehad. Goro besluit te helpen en gaat op zoek.
