Verhaal over Laurie Wade, een jonge vrouw die door haar ouders beschermd is opgevoed. Als Laurie verliefd wordt en trouwt lijkt alles goed te gaan, maar ze begint na verloop van tijd een psychose te vertonen, wat zelfs leidt tot moorddadig gedrag. Haar man Matthew is radeloos en probeert een manier te verzinnen, waarmee hij haar tegen haarzelf kan beschermen.
