Bill (Aaron Eckhart) is een onberispelijke en keurige man die, naast zijn leven prima op orde, een perfecte carrière heeft. Zijn leven komt op z'n kop te staan wanneer hij er achter komt dat zijn vrouw vreemd gaat met een lokale tv-presentator. Ondertussen krijgt Bill ook nog te maken met een jongen waar hij de mentor voor zijn stage moet zijn. En dan moet Bill ook nog eens op zijn gezondheid letten.
