Als militair Sarah haar zieke moeder naar het ziekenhuis brengt, ontdekt ze dat een heleboel mensen in het Amerikaanse stadje tegelijkertijd ziek zijn geworden. Het duurt vervolgens niet lang voor het gruwelijke virus dat deze zieke mensen in hun lichaam hebben hun drager transformeert in bloeddorstige wezens. Sarah, een paar collega's en nog wat andere mensen worden vervolgens aangevallen door deze hongerige monsters. Ze moeten nu alles op alles zetten om uit de handen van deze zombies te blijven en te overleven.
Nee, helaas is Day of the Dead nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
