John Rambo woont inmiddels in een klooster. Op een dag komen zijn voormalige kolonel Trautman en de ambassadeur van de V.S. hem opzoeken met een aanbod om een missie te accepteren. John weigert, en Trautman besluit om in zijn eentje naar Afghanistan te vertrekken. Zijn missie gaat echter mis; hij wordt door de Russen gevangen genomen en gemarteld in een zwaar bewaakt fort.
Nee, helaas is Rambo III nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
