Michael Alig is een onzekere plattelandsjongen die naar New York trekt. Hij begint daar met het organiseren van zeer extravagante feesten. Hij verwerft snel aanzien en verzamelt een groep flamboyante feestende jongeren om zich heen: de Club Kids. Er worden erg veel drugs gebruikt. Langzaam maar zeker gaan werkelijkheid en fantasie meer en meer door elkaar lopen. Totdat Michael zijn dealer vermoordt...
