Wanneer de joodse clubeigenaar Leonard Chess en de pas in het grote Chicago gearriveerde plantagearbeider en muzikaal talent Muddy Waters hun krachten besluiten te bundelen, is dit het begin van het legendarische blueslabel Chess Records. In het vervolg van de jaren '40 en '50 maken zij van de blues een populaire muziekstroming die met de komst van artiesten als Howlin' Wolf, Chuck Berry en Etta James zelfs rasoverschrijdend wordt. Helaas gaat het succes ook gepaard met de nodige interne strubbelingen zoals drugs, alcohol en overspel.
Nee, helaas is Cadillac Records nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
