Ray Pluto heeft veel problemen. Hij wordt in de roddelbladen gehekeld als de 'verliezeragent'. Zijn partner begint zich verdacht tot hem aangetrokken te voelen. Een paar scenarioschrijvers aan de andere kant van de gang blijven hem om hulp vragen. De hoofdinspecteur van zijn gebouw wordt neergestoken door boeven die zijn ingehuurd door zijn eigen opstandige dochter. Als klap op de vuurpijl kan een seksueel agressieve chiropractor Ray's ondergang betekenen.
