Ella leeft in een sprookjesachtige en magische wereld. Toen zij nog een baby was, is ze betoverd door een fee. Ella's gave -en vloek- is die van gehoorzaamheid: ze doet alles wat je zegt. Als gevolg daarvan is Ella niet in staat opdrachten te weigeren en is daardoor overgeleverd aan de grillen van allerlei vreemdsoortige personages. In een smeekbede om de controle over haar leven terug te krijgen, vertrekt Ella voor een missie. Ze komt terecht in een wereld van mensenetende reuzen en reuzinnen, gestoorde stiefzussen en sprekende boeken. Met een beetje geluk vindt ze daar ook nog de prins van haar dromen.
Nee, helaas is Ella Enchanted nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
