Joe Carraclough woont met zijn ouders en zijn hond Lassie in een klein stadje in Yorkshire. Lassie en Joe zijn onafscheidelijk. Op een dag moet Joe's vader de hond verkopen, maar Lassie keert toch terug naar de Carracloughs. Daarom neemt haar nieuwe baasje haar mee naar Schotland. Maar zelfs daar loopt zij weg.
Nee, helaas is Lassie nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
