Harper Stewart is een schrijver die op het punt staat om zijn autobiografisch werk uit te brengen. Dan wordt hij door zijn beste vriend Lance Sullivan gevraagd om getuige te zijn op diens huwelijk, waardoor hij zijn boekrelease moet uitstellen. In het boek onthult hij echter dat hij een geheime relatie heeft gehad met de aankomende bruid.
