Alleen en van de rest van de wereld geïsoleerd, werken trouwe werknemers Martha en Kyle nauw samen in een poppenfabriek in een klein dorpje. Ze zijn vrienden, ondanks hun grote leeftijdsverschil. Dan komt er een nieuwe collega: de jonge alleenstaande moeder Rose. Martha vindt het moeilijk dat Kyle en Rose een eigen relatie opbouwen.
