Punkrockband Sex Pistols gaat voor het eerst op tournee in de VS. De temperamentvolle bassist Sid Vicious neemt zijn problematische vriendin Nancy mee. Hun turbulente relatie stelt het geduld van de band en manager op de proef, terwijl het koppel verder wegzakt in drugsverslaving en afhankelijkheid.
