The Eagles spelen in April 1994 voor de eerste keer weer live, na een periode van 14 jaar afwezigheid. De naam dit reünie-album is een verwijzing naar de uitspraak die Don Henley deed op het moment dat de band in 1980 uit elkaar ging. Hij zei dat de groep pas weer met elkaar muziek zou maken op het moment dat “Hell freezes over”. De opnames in de Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California werden gemaakt voor een MTV special. De live sessies leverden maar liefst elf tracks op voor dit album, waaronder een nieuwe accoustische versie van “Hotel California”.
Nee, helaas is Eagles: Hell Freezes Over nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
