Twee toegewijde vrienden, geoefende piloten, worden overgeleverd aan het grove geweld van WO II. Door omstandigheden, die buiten hun macht liggen, raken ze verwikkeld in een driehoeksverhouding met een mooie vrouw. En dat dreigt hun vriendschap te vernietigen terwijl ze ook in de lucht hierdoor risico lopen. Uiteindelijk zal door zelfopoffering blijken dat hun band sterker is dan ze zelf voor mogelijk hadden gehouden.
