Nicky Nelson (Bob Hope) is een sjofele kermisklant die wacht en hoopt op zijn grote kans. Door de musicale talenten van zijn vriendin Lily Racquet (Shirley Ross) te exploiteren, probeert hij genoeg te verdienen om een grote theatershow op te kunnen zetten. De jacht naar geld stijgt Nicky naar zijn hoofd, waardoor hij zijn meisje verliest. Zal hij haar weer terug kunnen winnen?
