De rechtschapen Lorenzo probeert zijn 9-jarige zoon Calogero ver weg te houden van de misdadige maar opwindende maffiawereld, waar de beruchte Sonny een grote rol speelt. Als Calogero vervolgens getuige is van een moord en in Sonny de dader herkent, lijkt zijn lot bezegeld.
