Charlie Price wordt geconfronteerd met de sluiting van de schoenfabriek, die al generaties lang in handen is van zijn familie. Precies op het moment dat Charlie denkt dat alles verloren is, ontmoet hij toevallig drag queen en cabaret-ster Lola. Lola wijst Charlie op de behoefte aan stijlvolle, kinky laarzen voor haar en haar optredende collega's en dit geeft Charlie en het personeel van de fabriek zowaar wat hoop.
