Lisa (Abigail Breslin) is in 1986 onder mysterieuze omstandigheden in haar huis om het leven gekomen. Ze zit samen met de geesten van haar familieleden gevangen in het huis en probeert de nieuwe bewoners te helpen, opdat ze niet hetzelfde lot als zij hoeven te ondergaan.
