Wie zegt dat je beste vriend een mens moet zijn? Niet Willie Morris (Frankie Muniz), die voor zijn verjaardag een slimme hond met de naam Skip krijgt. Skip en Willie worden beste maatjes. Samen beleven ze een spannend avontuur met een stel onhandige smokkelaars, krijgen allemaal nieuwe vrienden en zelfs het mooiste meisje op school wil hun vriendinnetje zijn.
