Lincoln Hawk is vrachtwagenchauffeur. Hij heeft heel wat aan zijn hoofd want hij moet zijn zoontje Michael gaan halen, die sinds zijn geboorte niet meer heeft gezien. Michael's moeder, de ex-vrouw van Lincoln, ligt op sterven en Lincoln moet nu zorg dragen voor zijn zoon. Lincoln's ex-schoonvader ziet dat helemaal niet zitten.
