Een groep jonge bohémiens zien we, in hun worsteling om te overleven aan de rand van de samenleving. In hun streven naar geluk en acceptatie moeten de leden van deze gevarieerde en onconventionele gemeenschap het hoofd bieden aan de problemen uit het leven van alledag, zoals armoede, ziekte en de aidsepidemie. "Ze meten hun tijd in seizoenen van liefde."
