De jonge Simon wordt voortdurend achtervold door akelige dromen over de dood van zijn moeder. Als hij naar de universiteit gaat, wordt zijn gezichtsveld verruimd doordat hij kennismaakt met de wondere wereld van de LSD. Samen met zijn beste vriend Andrew, begint hij aan een lange road-trip langs verschillende hippe rockfestivals.
