Na een onheilspellende brief van zijn vader keert Don Diego in allerijl terug naar zijn geboortedorp Los Angeles, maar hij komt te laat. Van zijn vroegere aartsvijand kapitein Estaban verneemt hij dat zijn vader, de alcalde, dood is. De andere landeigenaars duiden de wrede Estaban aan als nieuwe alcalde, waardor de tiran vrij spel krijgt. Don Diego wil het voor de onderdrukte inwoners opnemen en transformeert in de gemaskerde held Zorro. Helaas verstuit hij zijn enkel, waardoor zijn homofiele broer Bunny Wigglesworth, zijn plaats moet innemen als verdediger van de armen.
Nee, helaas is Zorro, The Gay Blade nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
