In Ponyville zijn de voorbereidingen op het jaarlijkse voorjaarsfestival in volle gang, als ineens Spike de draak uit zijn jarenlange slaap ontwaakt. De legende gaat dat als de draak gewekt is, er een nieuwe prinses gekozen moet worden. Maar wie kan het zijn? De inwoners van Ponyville wachtte in spanning af.
