Gebaseerd op de levens van de excentrieke Big Edie (Jessica Lange) en haar dochter Little Edie Bouvier Beale (Drew Barrymore), de tante en nicht van Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Opgegroeid in het rijke New Yorkse klimaat, trekken beide dames zich terug, omdat ze de maatschappij zat waren. Ze gaan naar Long Island, waar ze hun eigen zomerhuis, Grey Gardens, hebben om vervolgens zonder contact met de buitenwereld te leven. Naarmate hun contact met de buitenwereld minder wordt, zo verdwijnt ook hun realiteitszin.
Nee, helaas is Grey Gardens nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
